Our principal engineer and founder of RTEA is active within the community and is a strong believer in "paying it forward".  What better way to make a difference in the community than to mentor upcoming students and the next generation who will be our future leaders in engineering. 

Our objective is to reach out to high school students within the socially disadvantaged community and empower the youth by looking at their strengths, passions and provide them with tools for development of goals or career.

College Bound Today

College Bound Today is a non-profit organizations thin Montebello Unified School District which is an organzation that is developed to provide families and students with opportunities and knowledge of how to prepare the students for college. 

• Prepare for PSATs, SATs, ACTs
• How to fill out college application
• How to write your capability statement/essay
• Provide guidance on what best courses to take which align with your career

As a mentor in this program, Regina has committed herself to working with a group of students for the next few years, from their 10th grade thru graduation.

Adelante Mujer Latina Conference 2014          Adelante Youth Center

This conference empowers teen Latinas to follow their passion and become leaders to their own fate.  There are over 100 presenters for the day in various areas of interest:

• STEM
• Medical & Health Services
• Lawyers & Government Relations
• Business Entrepreneurs
• Personal Development
• Education  
• College Preparation

Last year over 2000 participants of high school Latina students attended this one day event.  Keynote speakers of this event are motivated leaders such as judges, astronauts, congresswomen, etc.

Regina Talamantez is on the Advisory Council for Adelante Mujer Latina Conference 2014 and is on the Workshop Presenter Committee.  She will be speaking at this year's conference to promote STEM to the students and share her story.

Architecture, Construction & Engineering Pathway

Montebello Unified School District is actively giving families the ability to have their children go to college by creating pathway education as an alternative to traditional high school environment.  Not only the students, but their families and parents are committed to the program with the goal that their children will be prepared for college.  This community is primarily in a social economically disadvantaged area and in a Hispanic community.



Rio Hondo College Mentor -

Regina has presented and participated as a mentor to the students at Rio Hondo College sharing her experiences and guidance to first generation students.  Some of these students are the first in their family to go to college and she feels that it's important to share with the students--- that although their path is straight, it may have a few bumps in the road and it's how you respond to those bumps which determines your ultimate destination.
